Coronavirus Outbreak: India Cancels Existing Visas to Chinese Nationals and Foreign Nationals who visited China in the last Two Weeks

Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak in China, India has further tightened its visa norms. As on February 04, 2020, existing Indian visas of all Chinese nationals and other foreign nationals who are either based out of China or who have visited China in the last two weeks will now stand cancelled. In this regard, existing visas for such individuals are no longer valid. Intending visitors to India must contact the Indian Embassy in Beijing or the Consulates in Shanghai and Guangzhou to make an application for a new Indian visa.

On February 02, 2020, India temporarily suspended electronic visas (e-visas) for Chinese nationals and other foreign nationals residing in the People’s Republic of China.
