64% of H-1B Petitions was approved for Extension of Stay or Change of Status During the Calendar Year 2014 Through 2016

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released an analytical report on the approved H-1B petitions for workers with the extension of stay or change of status for the calendar year 2014 through 2016.

It was observed that about 64% of petitions were approved for the change of status or extension of stay during the calendar year 2014 through 2016.

The highest number of approval was in the state of California which ranks number one with 1,41,500 approved beneficiaries, followed by Texas and New York which ranks second and third respectively, with 61,500 and 55,200 approved beneficiaries and the lowest number of approval was in the state of Vermont, which holds the 48th position with 410 approved beneficiaries.

The report lists the major states and the U.S. territory work site, and the total number of approvals during the said period is 6,71,370.
